TEXT: "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding" (Prov 4:7)

Wisdom is the principal tool for exploit in the journey of life. To embrace the wisdom of God is to be relevant in life. There are signs that you're operating in divine wisdom. Let's examine two more today as we continue from where we stopped yesterday.

2. ABILITY TO HOLD YOUR TONGUE
A man full of divine wisdom is a man who is able to hold his tongue. This might not seem like such a great sign of divine wisdom until you think about someone who says everything that pops into his head. Do you consider that person wise? I’m sure you don’t. This is what the Bible has to say about the person who doesn’t think before he/she speaks: "A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back" (Prov 29:11 ESV). A fool says exactly what he is thinking but a wise person does not.

3. ABILITY TO GET ANGRY WITHOUT SINNING
You may probably say what does anger have to do with wisdom? Well, I have a question for you. Have you ever been so angry that you did or said something you wouldn’t have ordinarily done or said? Or, have you ever been so angry that days after the thing that triggered your anger you were still mad? You may even have had unforgiveness against the person you felt had wronged you.

Well, beloved, that kind of anger does not give honour to God, and who is a wise person but someone who acts in ways that honour God? The Bible says: "Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the bosom of fools" (Eccl 7:9 ESV). The ability to restrain yourself when you’re angry requires wisdom–the wisdom that comes from God.

PRAYER: Receive wisdom in your dealings with people from today, in Jesus name.
