POWER TO LAY DOWN

TEXT: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit" (John 12:24).

God's purpose for mankind is to be fruitful and multiply (Gen 1:28). But we need to come to a realization that there cannot be fruits without a seed planted. It takes a seed that is planted to bring forth fruits. Beloved, do you desire to be fruitful? Then be ready to plant your seeds. Your ability to lay down your seed is what guarantees your fruitfulness in life. Until a seed is planted, it lacks the power to be fruitful and multiply.

The secret to a fruitful life is in the power to lay down your life first to God. If you have not laid down your life for God, even if you lay down all you have, it doesn't guarantee fruitfulness as returns. The Bible says: "...And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering" (Gen 4:4b). It is the laying down of your life that guarantees the acceptability of your seed and until your seed is accepted by God, it does not guarantee harvest (fruits). Abel's sacrifice was accepted because his person was first accepted. Lay down your life for your Maker today. 

Secondly, fruitfulness answers to your willingness to lay down on the altar what you consider the most precious thing to you. Abraham waited for a promised child for 25 years. That must be the most precious thing ever happened to him. But until he laid him down on the altar, he didn't receive a sworn blessing from the Lord (Gen 22). He was willing to lose Isaac and God in turn poured out His blessing that is still speaking today. 

PRAYER: Receive the power to lay down your life and things for all round fruitfulness, in Jesus name.
