1Thess 5:18 "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
We are instructed from today's anchor scripture to have and maintain a heart of thanksgiving in all and every situation we find ourselves. By obeying this instruction, we have aligned our will to the will of God. Also, we don't only thank God for what He has done. But much more is this mystery of thanksgiving in that we also have to thank God for things to happen. For instance, the Lord Jesus gave thanks for things to happen (John 11). Thanksgiving is a two-edged sword; you thank God for things to happen and you also thank Him after it happened.
Whenever we give thanks to God in whatever situation we find ourselves, we activate one of mysteries of the Kingdom of God - the mystery of thanksgiving. Let's look at some of the wonders embedded in thanksgiving:
1. PRESERVATION OF BLESSINGS:
Thanksgiving is the mystery behind the preservation of the blessings of God in our lives. If you want your blessings preserved, you must be addicted to thanksgiving. You must thank God in faith, not casually or religiously but from the depth of your hearts, so that your blessings will not be turned to curses (Read Malachi 2:1-3).
2. PERFECTION OF BLESSINGS:
It is impossible to enjoy perfection of our blessings by grumbling and complaining. Perfection comes by the mystery of thanksgiving. Through the mystery of thanksgiving, whatever may have been damaged in your life experiences perfection because perfection answers to heart-rooted thanksgiving, as it was in the case of the one leper that returned (Luke 17:17-19).
PRAYER: Your blessings this year 2020 shall be preserved and perfected, in Jesus name.
