Gen 12:1 "Now the Lord had said unto Abram, get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee."
I pointed out yesterday that the way to experience the blessings of God is to follow the paths of those who are blessed.
God who is not a respecter of persons will daze you with His blessings if you do what they did (Heb 6:12). Abraham's lifestyle is worth following because his blessings are worth claiming. What did Abraham do and how did he live his life before his laughter came? We saw yesterday that he was a committed follower of God's instructions. What else can we learn from his life? The Lord said unto him: "Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house." Why would God tell him that? The reason is because the association you keep determines what you attracts. If you associate with a sadist for instance, you will begin to live as one. If you keep company with critics and people with wrong mentality, soon you will find yourself behaving like that. The Bible says: "He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed" (Pro 13:20). So, if you walk with the blessed, you will be blessed.
Someone says "Your company determines what accompanies you." You must mind the company you keep because your company will either make you or maim you. Abraham needed to separate from the wrong set of people of his days for God to showcase him to his generation. The company that take you away from God or the ones that make mockery of God's word is not worth keeping. If you will experience laughter the way Abraham did, you must mind who you call your friends.
PRAYER: Your time to laugh has finally come, in Jesus name.
