Matt 13:20-21 "But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended."
I want you to understand this morning that God remains who He is with or without our giving. Our giving doesn't add to God but us. He doesn't want us to approach giving with the mentality of 'give and take.' You must come to a level where your given should not be because you want to receive. The Bible says: "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35). Your given should be motivated by your love for God.
The second group of people Jesus mentioned in the parable of the sower are those whose giving is motivated by receiving. These kind of people easily give up especially when what they desire in return is not in view. They hear a message on giving, accepted it with Joy but could not stand the test of time because of impatience. They give up too soon, get offended in God because their delayed harvests. When you are offended in God because of little delay in your harvest, you will lose it. That will not be you, in Jesus name. The Bible says: "Be follower of them who through "faith" and "patience" inherit the promise (Heb 6:12).
God will not release your increase until you pass a test of faithfulness, consistency, diligence and patience in the area of giving. When your faithfulness is proven Ok, increase is the end result.
PRAYER: My prayer for you today is that your increase shall not be hindered by a careless act of impatience, in Jesus name.
