1Kings 19:3 "And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there."
There is an important key I want us to see as one of the ways to deal with the yoke of delay in life and destiny. Today's text says that Elijah got to Beer-sheba and he left his servant there. What a word! In this chapter, the word "He left his servant there" caught my attention and I want to share it today.
There are some things in our lives that cause delay and until they are identified and dealt with, miracle will just be a mirage. The Bible says: "Lay aside every weight...and run with patience the race that is set before us" (Heb 12:1). You can't carry weight and expect God to step in. Lay it aside and you will see God in action.
Somebody you are reading this today, the only reason why that delay is still there is because of that ungodly relationship you are yet to leave. The unforgiveness, hatred, sinful habit, envy, infidelity, drunkenness, etc, is the reason why God cannot answer your prayer. The people you associate with or those you call your friends are the reason behind your delay.
Beloved, you must let go to let God.
Elijah left his servant behind and the delay to his answer was broken. There are several other examples in the Bible. For instance, Abraham left his servants behind before getting to the place of sacrifice (Gen 22:5). Jacob also was left alone and the angel showed up (Gen 32:24-28). Don't let that friendship, relationship, attitude, habit, etc, keep you down. Leave them behind and God will show up.
PRAYER: Receive grace to let go of what is causing the delay, in Jesus name.
