Ps 40:1 "I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry."
As we round up the theme of the month today, considering the fact that tomorrow Saturday is the Review Of the Week, I will like to draw your attention to the fact that most of us hate the word 'wait'. We want what we want and we want it now!
However, God has created us to live differently. In order to grow in the spirit, we must learn to wait on God. We must be ready and willing to yield to His timing. We must not have our own agenda but allow God to guide our lives. Only then can we receive His best.
Let's see two gains of waiting on God?
* IT PURIFIES OUR MOTIVES. Instead of acting out in lust, we learn to act out of love and obedience.
* IT PROTECTS US FROM UNSEEN DANGER. God knows the danger ahead of us. We don’t. Giving us what we want now may not fit into the bigger picture of our lives. Sometimes, that can be a danger instead of a blessing.
Well, you and I have three choices when it comes to waiting on God.
We can manipulate our situation to get what we want. However, this robs us of God’s best and could end in disaster. We can walk away from God when we allow our disappointment to turn us from God or we can wait and trust that God has our best interest at heart. Waiting on God requires faith, patience, and humility.
It’s hard not to develop impatience while waiting on God. We tend to fall for the lie that He is unaware of our struggles. But rushing ahead of God is never a good idea. My prayer this morning is that God will engrace us to wait on Him with joy and anticipation, trusting in His best for our lives, in Jesus name.
This is where we draw the curtain.
PRAYER: You will not miss God's timing for your miracle, in Jesus name.
