Num 23:19 "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"
Has God given you a promise that is yet to be fulfilled? Perhaps, while reading the Bible, a verse jumped off the page and pierced your heart and you screamed as though the answer you need has come. But up till now nothing has happened.
In fact, your circumstances turned for the worse so to speak. Are you misinterpreting God’s intentions? Where are the promised blessings, you asked?
As a young man, God gave Joseph, the son of Jacob a promise that one day he would rule. But for the next thirteen years after, everything went exactly opposite to the promise (Read Gen 37-48). His brothers, who hated him, sold him to the Egyptians. As a slave in Potiphar’s house, he was falsely accused of raping his master’s wife. Then he was thrown into prison and forgotten.
Joseph however, refused to let his circumstances shape his outlook. He allowed no self-pity or bitterness to rob him of energy. Instead, he chose to use each circumstance; whether at home, Potiphar’s house, or in prison, as God’s appointed place where he would serve Him with all of his heart. God eventually blessed Joseph and made him a blessing to others.
Are you in the same shoe this morning? Beloved, a delay is not denial, but a time of preparing you for the promise. I know that it can be very hard when we cannot see God in action. But that doesn’t mean He is not acting on our behalf. Joseph never grumbled against God. He waited patiently for the promise to fulfill. God's delay is not a denial!
PRAYER: Grace to wait for your desired miracle is yours, in Jesus name.
