Psalms 103:2 "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his  benefits:"

Let's continue from where we stopped yesterday on the meaning of thanksgiving.

2: Thanksgiving is: "Recounting the past acts of God in our life." David said we should not forget all His benefits. There is nothing we have today that is an "achievement"; all we have are products of "His benefits." Nothing worthwhile can be achieved outside God. So, thanksgiving is simply attributing what you are and what you have to God as His benefits to you. We are nothing and have nothing without God. So, appreciate Him for all His benefits and it will not stop flowing.

3: Thanksgiving is: "Having an attitude of gratitude to God." That attitude is what moves your heart to celebrate every act of God in your life whether big or small.

Why we must thank God?:

(1) It is a good thing. Psalms 92:1 says: "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High.." If the word of God says it is a good thing, then it is wise we practice it.

(2) It is the will of God. In 1Thes 5:18, apostle Paul said: "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." When you're done doing the will of God, you will be entitled to obtain the promise (Heb 10:36).

(3) Your prayer is incomplete without thanksgiving. Phil 4:6 says: "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication WITH thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."

PRAYER: As you give God thanks today, I see Him releasing the balance of your testimony, in Jesus name.

Send us your testimonies. We want to celebrate God's faithfulness in your life.
