Luke 10:41-42 "And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."

There's this story about the "Goose and the Golden Egg." A poor farmer one day
discovered a glittering golden egg in the nest of his pet goose. Incredible, he thought, someone must be playing a trick on me. But on a second thought, he decided to take the egg and closely examined it. The farmer couldn't believe his fortune. The egg was pure gold. To his utter amazement and delight, the next day the goose laid another golden egg. What more, soon he became wealthy. But with wealth came greed and impatience.

He could no longer wait day after day for the golden eggs. He might as well have everything here and now. The farmer decided to kill the goose in order to get the golden eggs all at once. So he killed the goose but when he opened it, he found it empty. There were no golden eggs and there was no way to get any more. The farmer had destroyed the very thing that produced the golden egg.

Beloved, one thing is needful which enhances many other things. That one thing is grace. To be endowed with grace is to be endowed with all other things. It is time to stop pursuing many things and start to pursue the one thing. Don't allow the many things to kill the one thing in your life. You can't do without it. Grace is the one thing that is needful, it is the goose that lays the golden eggs!

PRAYER: You're gracefully lifted this month and beyond, in Jesus name.
