1Sam 1:20 "Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, because I HAVE ASKED HIM OF THE LORD."
Did you just see what I saw in the verse above? Samuel arrived because Hannah said she asked him of the LORD. Does it mean that all her years of waiting for a child she wasn't asking from God? Yes, she wasn't asking from God. I believe she was
depending on Elkanah her husband instead, the reason she was sad and weeping.
"Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons?" (1Sam 1:8).
How true is this of many today? The answers to our prayers seem not coming because we have shifted our eyes away from the God who answers prayers to mortal men for answers. Many people today are not experiencing changes because they've not asked of the Lord. Even if some do, they are expecting answers from man.
What are your challenges? Talk to God about them. Be ready to focus on Him alone for the answer. Don't consult doctor alone for your health challenge, consult God too. I love doctors, but in some cases they are limited. They cure but God heals. Don't consult mortal man alone for any help, consult God before consulting man. The reason is, until God moves upon man to help you, man will remain unmoved about your needs.
Hannah learnt a great lesson by this encounter. Because she now knew how to ask God and depend on Him for answers, five other sons were added to her. God is set to help you, allow Him. God uses men to meet our needs, no doubt about that, but please, allow Him to do it in His own way. What are your expectations for the month of September? Talk to God about it now.
PRAYER: Your requests today shall return to you as answers in Jesus name.
