Acts 3:5 "And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them."

I want us to approach the theme for this month from two directions. First, we shall be looking at how we can continuously attract miracles in our life and secondly, how to be a carrier of miracles.


Today's text shows us how to attract the Hand of God for our desired miracles. There are two striking points about this man that are mentioned in the verse. The Bible says "He gave heed, expecting to receive something." He gave heed and he was expecting something. First, he gave heed. To give heed means to pay attention.

Beloved, distraction is an enemy of miracles. When we say miracle, we mean divine intervention on every issue of concern to you. Until you pay attention to God, nothing pays attention to you. If you want the world to stand at attention for you, then pay close attention to God. The miracle wrought in the life of this man drew the attention of all the people in his days; the reason is, he gave attention to the apostles. Until you secure the attention of God, no man gives you attention.

How do you give attention to God to attract the miraculous? We have the answer in Prov. 4:20: "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings." You need to give attention to the word of God to command the miraculous. Don't be carried away by the happenings in your life, only what is written in the word. You need to ignore the minor and focus on the major. The minor is what is currently happening in your life which is subject to change while the major is what is written in His word concerning you which is settled forever.

To give attention to the word is to keep beholding and confessing it to yourself and situation (Jos 1:8). Pay close attention to God's word, there lies the secrets to your miracle!
