TEXT: "For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield" (Psalms 5:12)

Having known what favour is and the importance of it, let’s now look at the principles that will attract it into our life.

(1) GODLINESS: One of the principles that attracts favour to us is godly lifestyle. When your life is void of worldliness, God puts on you His favour. God will only compass the godly not the worldly with favour as with a shield. Men like Joseph, Job, and Daniel in the Bible were lifted by favour because they stood for godliness. Joseph said: "Shall I do this great wickedness and sin against God?" (Gen 39:9).

TEXT: "And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti" (Esther 2:17)

From the word of God, we understand that God always blesses the righteous and also protects him with the weapon of favour. "For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield" (Ps 5:12) Are you a righteous person? That is a lesson for another day. God preserves and protects a man He puts His favour on from all oppositions and anti-favour moves of men.
