TEXT: "And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:" (Gen 26:2)

Let's go deeper into the story of Isaac and see the secrets that he traded which caused his supernatural increase. The first thing I noted in the life of isaac is the fact that "he had his own plan." His plan was to go down to Egypt in search of greener pasture because of the famine that was biting the land so hard. But God interrupted Isaac’s plan and changed his direction. To Isaac, Egypt looked very attractive and a place to be, away from famine, but to God who sees what no one else sees, Gerar was the place where Isaac’s increase and prosperity had been divinely appointed.

TEXT: "For he had possession of flocks, and  possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him" (Gen 26:14).

The event about Isaac in today's anchor scripture is one of the suitable events regarding supernatural increase. The way the Bible describes the increase that Isaac experienced in the land of Gerar clearly shows that it was beyond hard work. As I mentioned before, the supernatural increase God promised us is not the one that is associated with our efforts or hard work. I am not in anyway disregarding hard work or effort in our life's journey. In the midst of a severe famine, Isaac increased greatly and became so prosperous that Philistines envied him!
