Gen 12:3 "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."
Understanding the purpose of a thing is what helps one to maximize the benefit thereof. God wants His children to be blessed, but the question is, why? Why does He want His children blessed? We need to understand this. Myles Munroe once said, "When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable."
The truth is, God wants to bless His children (you) basically so that they (you) can be a blessing. God blesses you not for you to consume it on your lust but so you can be a blessing to others. You never get blessed anymore than you are committed to be a blessing.
Abraham was not only blessed, all the generations after him were blessed. God said to him: "...and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed" (Gen 12:3). So, Abraham did not just have prosperity but he had prosperity with posterity.
Beloved, God will not bless you so you can accumulate wealth. The life of a man does not consist in the abundance of things he has (Lk 12:15). You are not going to be blessed by God to be an accumulator but to be a distributor. He will not bless you to be a collector rather He will bless you so that you can be a channel of blessing. Rise up to that responsibility beloved, and you will keep growing in His blessings.
PRAYER: The Lord shall empower you today to be a blessing, in Jesus name.
